Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

My sister told me to watch some show called "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution," so I set up my DVR to record it. Friday night comes around, Ryan's asleep, school work is done, so I decided to watch it. Literally 10 minutes into it I was hooked. I could not believe how bad we all eat....I'm guilty of it too. And what's even worse is that the food in the school cafeteria's is probably the worst food you could possibly feed your kids. I'm very glad I watched this before Ryan ever starts school, because unless something changes, she'll be taking her lunch every single day.

Jarrod and I are already pretty strict when it comes to what Ryan (and we) eat....all my friends and family know this. But I'm taking it up a notch. I myself have decided not to eat chicken, beef, or pork again...but that's a personal decision and I don't expect Ryan and Jarrod to do the same. I will, however, make sure that the meat that Ryan does eat is not processed. I thought we were doing okay by giving her the Tyson white meat chicken nuggets every now and then....I mean, they're better than rib meat nuggets, right? Well, after reading the package they are still minimally processed and that's enough to make me toss them out. And for everyone out there that doesn't understand what "processed" meat is, either google it or watch the 2nd episode of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. It's completely disgusting.

Jarrod and I had already started incorporating organic and natural foods into our diets, but we've definitely decided to really concentrate on eating better all the time. Don't get me wrong, I still have my sweet tooth and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon, but as long as we can start making small changes (such as no beef, no white bread, etc), I think it'll definitely pay off in the end and I strongly urge everyone to do the same.
